Serving Those Who Serve at Ragnar Wasatch Back
At Costa Vida, we’re pretty big fans of organizations and volunteers who give back to their communities. To show our thanks, we like to give back by “serving those who serve.”
If you were at Ragnar Wasatch Back last weekend—whether running or supporting—you probably saw us in action. As the Official Fuel of the race, we had a blast serving up some delicious food to the runners for the second year in a row.
Ragnar partners with various charities at each of their relay locations throughout the world. This year, Ragnar Wasatch Back and charity partner Neuroworx teamed up to help patients recovering from spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries accomplish their goal of participating in a Ragnar.
In addition to serving food to participants and volunteers, we also had the unique opportunity to follow some of the Neuroworx team members by filming a documentary of their incredible stories.
The video will be released on the 19th, but you can catch a sneak peek right now:
Neuroworx had six teams participating in Ragnar this year, four of which included Neuroworx patients.
According to Jan Black, the Clinic Director at Neuroworx, it was a very special experience to take part in the race with these patients, who worked for months training and preparing for Ragnar. “[It] completely changed the concept of team,” she says. “It’s not about the time it takes to get to the finish line; it’s about helping these individuals reach a benchmark in their rehabilitation.”
We can’t wait to see their journey on film next week!
